There is a long and chequered history when it comes to women and mental health. Bonnie Evans takes a long view across history of women – from witches and hysteria, via mad women in the attic, through to the high numbers of women experiencing mental health problems today.
She asks: is it time we stopped ignoring the past when considering women's mental health?
