The Department for Business has published the 'Good Work Plan' which sets out a package of reforms to workplace rights to ensure they keep pace with new forms of employment and the changing labour market.
The plan was published in response to the Taylor Review of Modern Working Practices and will implement 51 of the 53 recommendations made in the review. This will include measures to stop agency workers being paid less than permanent staff doing the same job, give greater protections to freelancers and workers in the gig economy, and require employers to provide a written statement of workplace rights to all workers rather than just employees.
