Careers company for schools

The Education Secretary has announced the creation of a new careers and enterprise company for schools which will focus on young people aged 12 to 18. Its role will include:

  • providing advice to schools and colleges
  • assisting in breaking down perceived barriers between schools, colleges and employers in all sectors and in increasing the level of employer input
  • mapping the extent of engagement between schools and employers across the country and stimulating more activity in areas where it is needed
  • developing a system which motivates young people to take part in activities to build their employability, through the development of the Enterprise Passport, a digital record of all extracurricular and enterprise-related activities.
